ITW ChronoTherm technology and engineering expertise has developed an automatic heater pad for the outside rear view mirrors of passenger cars, trucks and other vehicles. ChronoTherm heater designs use a proprietary PTC (Psositive Temperature Coefficient) material in their construction that incorporates self-regulating characteristics. This unique conductive polymer material allows for high wattage heating at sub-zero temperatures. This is made possible by ChronoTherm's proprietary positive temperature coefficient ink that serves as both the heating element and temperature distribution sensor that detects ice and mist levels and directs more or less heat accordingly to those areas.
